Iowa Star is pieced per the directions on page 49 and template on page 115 OR Paper Pieced using the Supplemental Packet offered at Patched Works.
Leslie – Midwinter Reds by MODA
Leslie says: I cut the center square C according to the traditional piecing because I wanted to “fussy cut” the fabric. Then I paper pieced the corner squares and set in square C to them. To set in this square, sew up to the seam line and do a little back stitch to hold. Start your next seam on the other side of the seam line that you just sewed up to.
Jen – “Sparkler” Fat Stack, a beautiful blend of Purple, Blue and Green Kona Solids
Jen says: I think this is such an eye catching block. I only wish I had a little more contrast between my two purples.
Julie: Elm Creek Quilts; The Giving Quilt This block was put together by PW Customer Jadine H.
Jadine H says: Don’t remove the foundation paper until the blocks are assembled. The smaller stitch length, the easier the paper is to remove. Removing the paper is best done outside – just let it fly!
