Featured Quilter: Diane
Diane says: You can never go wrong with a combination of Lime, Purple & Black!
Additional blocks made by: Lisa, Jen & Mary
Jen says: I love how the dark greens and dark blues play together in this block. I did strip piece my middle sections, adding cornerstones for the outside corners.
Mary says: Did you check out the “Get Squared” ruler by June Tailor that is hanging out by the display of our Tula Blocks? It is a 6-1/2” square ruler with a 3-1/2” cut-out in the middle. So for this block, I could use it to fussy-cut out the center 3-1/2” square and then square up the whole block! The little checkerboard border I made from a strip set of light and dark solids sub-cut into 1-1/2” pieces.
Lisa says: Just Fun! I love one inch squares! The solid blue I have been using throughout my quilt is from ”In the Beginning” and it is so nice to work with. I made my outer border slightly larger for this block and block 81 and trimmed it with the June Tailor Get Squared ruler.
We encourage you to take pictures of your blocks and upload them to our Tula Pink 100 Blocks of Summer Flickr Group. If technology isn’t your thing, bring your blocks into the shop and we’ll snap a picture of them and upload them on your behalf.
